There is Only One Way Forward to Address Immigration: Shift the Paradigm
<p>Immigration has long been a divisive issue in the United States. Candidates for elected office have run on the platform of “fixing” immigration problems again and again, only to find that the issue is too large and overwhelming to address with a quick fix.</p>
<p>America has also spent years indulging its disputes, with elected leaders using social media and Congressional microphones for shameful displays of name-calling and verbal abuse, wallowing in their enjoyment of childish vendettas while important issues go unaddressed.</p>
<p>While these <em>public servants</em> satiate their desire for public approbation, or, in some cases, their seeming addiction to on-camera rants, people continue to suffer. Americans are suffering for a variety of reasons. People who want to come to America are suffering, as well. But the most visible response to real need is public squabbling.</p>
