Abortion Trafficking Is Now Illegal in Alabama and Texas

<p>We knew it was going to happen, didn&rsquo;t we? Not content with outlawing abortion, red states, beginning with Alabama and Texas, are making it illegal to travel to another state to obtain an abortion.</p> <p>Pregnant women living in red states with abortion bans are now effectively prisoners.</p> <p>First, let&rsquo;s define the term, abortion trafficking. The word &ldquo;trafficking&rdquo; normally refers to people who are forced or coerced into illegal activities. In this case, it&rsquo;s not the pregnant woman who is being trafficked, it is the fetus that she is carrying that is &ldquo;trafficked&rdquo; because it is being forced into leaving the state and being aborted.</p> <p>I&rsquo;ll pause here for a moment to let that sink in.</p> <p>Now, let&rsquo;s talk about how Alabama and Texas are trying to prevent this so-called abortion trafficking.</p> <p>In Alabama, the attorney general, Steve Marshall, says that he has the right to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/alabama-attorney-general-says-prosecute-113933721.html" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">prosecute anyone who makes travel arrangements for a pregnant woman</a>&nbsp;to leave the state to obtain an abortion.
