What I Wish I Had Known on My 30th Birthday — Each New Day Is A Gift

<p>Today is my birthday, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world.</p> <p>I haven&rsquo;t taken very good care of myself for most of my life, yet I&rsquo;m still here. I haven&rsquo;t avoided sugar, wine, or meat, but I&rsquo;m still here. About 40 percent of people born in my birth year, 1944, are dead, but I&rsquo;m still here. I haven&rsquo;t consciously tried to prolong my life, yet I&rsquo;m still here.
