<p>In 1968 the U.S. elected our 37th president, Richard M. Nixon. While his Presidency was marred by scandal, and his eventual resignation, the one thing that seems to have slipped by historical narratives is just how racist Nixon actually was.</p>
<p>From the very beginning of his campaign, one of Nixon’s own advisors, H.R. Haldeman went on record saying that Nixon pursued a “So<em>uthern, racial strategy</em>”. He went so far as to quote Nixon as saying, “<em>He emphasized that you have to face the fact that the whole problem is really blacks.
